The Big Question

One of the questions we are most asked is, “When are you leaving for Brazil?” The answer I usually give is, “Our prayer is for January.” And that is the most truthful answer I can give. We are eager to head to Brazil, but there are several things that must take place for this to happen. The first is that we must be 110% funded in our Living Link budget. This means that we have enough partners to cover 110% of our recurring budget, the budget that keeps us on the field. We are getting close to 50%, so we still have a ways to go.

The second is that we also have to raise a startup budget, the budget that gets us to the field. That is the cash we are required to have on hand to begin moving to Brazil. That budget is roughly $57,000. Thankfully, our startup budget is at about $44,000, which is 77%!  Thank you to everyone who has partnered with us to help our two budgets to continue to grow.

The third thing that must happen is that we need to attend pre-field training. This training lasts about a month, and is a time used to prepare missionaries to move abroad. We currently have several options for this training, and we are praying for God to lead us to where He would have us go.

The fourth major thing that needs to happen is that we need visas to stay in Brazil. There are several different types of visas we can apply for, and we are praying for God’s wisdom to show us the right one. Once we are ready to apply, we will need to take a trip to Washington DC to apply in person.

So when are we going to Brazil? Our prayer is still for January. Be in prayer for us as we seek additional partners in this ministry so that we can go where God has called us!
